Michael “Mike” Mathias, 72, of Toledo, OH, died Thursday, October 12, 2017, in Ebeid Hospice Residence. Born, May 18, 1945, in Toledo, OH, he was the son of Richard and Alyce (Rychlewski) Mathias. Mike was a 1963 graduate of Woodward High School, he then served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He married Norma K. Bodnar on January 7, 1967. He was employed by Ford Motor Credit Company for 28 years, retiring in 2007. Mike enjoyed working with stain glass, playing cards with family and friends, but most of all, spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Norma; children, Rick Mathias and Kristen (Aaron) Allen; brother, Mark (Mary Jane) Mathias; grandchildren, Michael, Joseph, Aiden, Evan and Anna. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be from 3-8 pm Sunday, October 15, 2017, at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd. (at Jackman) Temperance, MI, where funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, October 16, 2017. Fr. James Auth, officiating.
